How will you access our financial information?
This is up to you. You can choose to send us statements or create separate login credentials for us. Because your privacy is of utmost importance to us, we keep your statements and/or login credentials secure and only accessible to those working directly with your account.
We already have an accountant. Do we still need a bookkeeper?
We work with a lot of small businesses that have in-house or third-party accountants who typically focus on one aspect of accounting (AR, AP, Financial Review, etc.). As their bookkeepers, we perform the monthly reconciliation and compile all the information needed to create financial statements.
What kinds of documents and financial reports do you provide?
Each month we provide you with an income statement and balance sheets for you to review. Income statements give you an overview of your company’s monthly revenue, expenses, and profit. Balance sheets compile other financial information, such as cash available, assets, and equity.
How do you keep my business information secure?
As a business of our own, we understand how important it is to keep sensitive financial information private. We store files on a cloud that uses encryption technology, so you can rest assured that your sensitive information is secure with us.
Do I have to sign a long-term bookkeeping contract with you?
Not at all. Our relationships with clients are at will, so you can decide how long you’d like to use our bookkeeping services. Maybe you’d like to work with us for a few months to get a solid foundation established for your company, or maybe you’re ready to take the plunge and utilize our bookkeepers indefinitely. Either way, it’s your decision, and you don’t have to decide upfront how long you’ll use our services.
What software platforms do you use?
We use a variety of software platforms, including QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Quicken, to streamline our processes and ensure accuracy in reporting.
Can you file my taxes?
While our core business is bookkeeping, our owner is a CPA and we do file tax returns if there is mutual interest and a long term relationship.
My business is really small. Do I need a bookkeeper?
That depends. Generally, you want to establish a good set of books at the very beginning, before your business gets too big. Financials are vital at every stage of the company’s growth. We can help you establish that solid foundation from the beginning or create a reliable system if you’ve already been in business for some time.
How do I know if I need a bookkeeper?
Bookkeeping is essential for every company, no matter the industry or size. We want you to feel confident in our services, and we never want you to feel like you’re wasting your time or money. For this reason, we set up an initial phone conversation with interested clients to see if you have any need for our services. If you don’t, we’ll be the first to tell you.
